Action News: Marlboro County, SC Landfill lawsuit to be heard this month

UPDATE: The dates of the trial have been moved to February 21st and 22nd, 2012.
Landfill lawsuit to be heard this month
November 11, 2011

After months on the back burner, the county’s on-going fight against a proposed landfill will be heard in court.
The non-jury trial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, in the main courtroom at the Marlboro County Courthouse. Judge Michael Nettles will preside and make a ruling in the case, which is expected to continue on Tuesday, Nov. 22.

Action Waste Management Resolution has passed

The Scotland County Board of Commissioners has passed the "Waste Management Resolution".

Media Scotland board puts end to landfill project

Smart Growth "A New Approach to Solid Waste"

On March 16, 2010, Neil Seldman, President of the Institute for Self Reliance, a national nonprofit organization, spoke at the Clinton Inn. The event was entitled "A New Approach to Solid Waste." The purpose was to discuss "alternatives" to the issue of solid waste disposal in Scotland County.
