Something doesn’t quit fit into the realm of logic with this entire fast driven endeavor.
Sen. Trudy Wade introduced the bill arguing that the NC needs to begin addressing landfill capacity problems. Senator Wade indicated North Carolina has a remaining landfill capacity of 15-20 years; though Dexter Matthews of DENR, (NC Department of Energy and Natural Resources), stated that capacity remains for approximately 30 years). This disputed sense of urgency concerning our land fill capacity is the justification for the dismantling of the State’s established health and environmental safeguards.
